FFA Farm Mechanics & Field Crops

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
NOTE: Entries must be picked up Saturday after 9:00 p.m., or Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

  1. Articles exhibited MUST have been constructed by FFA members, either as part of their farm mechanics instruction in vocational agriculture, or as a part of their supervised farming project.

  2. Entries will be judged on the basis of workmanship and finish, design, strength, usefulness and suitability.

  3. An article can be shown ONLY ONCE at the Delta Fair, but does not have to be constructed during the year it is exhibited.

  4. All entries must be painted or properly treated in case of feeders. All articles MUST be clean and in presentable condition even though they may have been used.

  5. All entries MUST be the work of the exhibitor.

  6. Non-perishable entries (shop entries) may be entered on Sunday (before the Fair), from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All entries will be accepted between 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Monday before the Fair, and MUST remain in place until 9:00 p.m. Saturday (last day of Fair).

  7. Judging will be on Monday (before the Fair) beginning at 6:00 p.m.

  8. There will be no entry fee.

  9. Judging will be on the point system, and point value will be determined by the judge at time of judging. Maximum point value shall not exceed $1.00.

  10. The points assigned to projects are based upon the amount of work involved, difficulty and cost of moving, and the costs of materials. The judge and superintendent may adjust the points up or down with a range of 50% when a project is unusual in size or difficulty, and appear necessary, in order to keep the points in balance.

All entries MUST have been grown by the exhibitor as a part of his supervised farming program. All samples MUST have been produced during the year specified for that class.


Only exhibits of high quality and purity will be judged as eligible for premiums.


Grain and seed samples will be displayed in one gallon containers.


Each exhibitor is limited to one entry in each Class.


The premium money in this lot is limited at $75 at a rate of not more than the rate paid on other FFA exhibits. Point values will be determined by the judge at the time of judging.
